This week, I joined my fellow European researchers from Turkey, Italy and Lithuania of the TRAining of Informal Caregivers in Elderly care (TRACE) research group in Ankara, Turkey. In an oral presentation at the ‘International Congress on Multidisciplinary Approaches to Elderly Health and Care’ at Başkent Üniversitesi I talked about our work in the multicultural memory clinic in the Netherlands. Other exciting talks were about topics as diverse as: Sinop, the happiest city in Turkey and about new interventions to support Turkish caregivers of people with dementia. I was very glad I could pay a visit to our respected partners at Hacettepe University Hospital, as well as the impressive Etimesgut Belediyesi home for the elderly. I hope to visit Turkey again soon!
