Today, I had the pleasure of following a training course in diversity! We talked about a wide variety of topics, ranging from increasing diversity in our hospital to youth radicalization. We even discussed the impression our Minister President might make on leaders across the world by cleaning up the coffee he spilt on the floor. Different cultural perspectives and communication styles were dicussed. As a piece of advice for those already familiar with the pyramid of Maslov, try looking at the (collectivist) pyramid of Pinto in comparison! I was also reminded of a book I recently read by Erin Meyer, called ‘the Culture Map’, an easy to read and interesting book about culture and communication in a business environment. For those of you who have little time to read, I have included a video of one of her interesting talks.
